WHAT, WHEN AND HOW TO TEACH YOUNG CHILDREN? (PART_1)

                        EARLY CHILDHOOD

Though not all, but many of you, as parents of small kids or teachers/freshers supposed to deal with kids, might be wondering how to handle these tiny tots with care, what, when and how to start teaching these kids???? Well, this is the right place for you to have some idea or gain knowledge on the topic.

Having more than 22 years of teaching experience and observing students, batch after batch, every year, as well as observing my own kids from the beginning till the present(they're quite grown up now), I think I might share some tips, which may help you in this regard.

(In fact I have come across many such questions on several platforms, like "What skills should I be teaching to my 3-year-old?", "What should we start teaching young children?" etc.)

Thus, here we go! All the best for your future endeavors, dear young parents/guardians/care takers/teachers. I'm sure it will benefit you, in whatever field you are, whether you are a mother of a very small kid, a teacher at KG level, or you deal with kids at a day care center. Because, many attractive and interesting activities will be shared here, which will keep your tiny tots engaged and they will start learning different skills through play-way methods. For this, of course you should take a few things into account first.

  • Safety and security: So, you must ensure a safe and secure environment for your child, where he/she should be without any danger/threat or fear. Because, after all, the child is the most precious one among all the assets possessed, as considered by the mothers/parents.
  • School Phobia: Constant fear factors may lead to school phobia for many children. Though different factors may lead to this, such as:-difficulty to adjust to  the new atmosphere, being detached from the parents, early school timings, fear of teachers, fear of punishments, difficulty to accept the discipline in school, dislike of homework, tough study routine, fear of class tests, fear of examinations, so on and so forth. Most school goers have school phobia right from the beginning. The reason for this is lack of proper pre-school training.
  • Loving and caring atmosphere: You should never be very strict or rigid about anything. Be friendly with the children. Interact nicely with them.
  • Play- way method: You should follow play-way method of teaching,  whereby the child will not feel bored/stressed at all.
So, you can create opportunities and provide them with various interesting activities appropriate  for  their age and readiness point.

I will be sharing more details about how more such activities help children develop their skills in detail in my blog posts later separately. I  hope you like my post. Children definitely will feel happier about their  education and school environment also.

As Mahatma Gandhi to India ......as Sai baba to Shiridi .... as Gopabandhu Das to Odisha... similarly he was to Aul, Kendrapara. In fact, people in that locality admired him more than Gopabandhu Das.It can be verified through evidences. Because, he was no less than the others in fighting for the freedom of the nation. He was imprisoned several times during the British rule. He had completely neglected his family for the sake of society. After getting married for 16 years, he was blessed with his one and only daughter, Kunjalata Das. Most of the time he was out of home, doing social work. Hardly had she got any affection, he passed away in 1961 leaving his wife Radhamani and a small child to struggle ever a...

My memories and acknowledgement

Having collected my final D.El.Ed certificate I bid goodbye to Sthitiprajna Higher Secondary School. Aptakama Mishra, Secretary  Sthitiprajna Higher Secondary School  During a span of around two years. I had been to this place many times as my study centre for the d.el.ed course. All were very cordial, supportive and cooperative. It was a kind of emotional attachment to this institution, Management and other staff members, specially Priyanka Ray and Ranjita Pradhan ma'am which is quite unforgettable for me.  It was an amazing experience for me to be inside the school premises; peaceful, calm, safe and secure.  This is to acknowledge their friendly approach to administering the entire program so smoothly.  Wishing Sthitiprajna Higher Secondary School great success ahead.  Thanks and regards,  Mita Patnaik  Teacher
